AWAD at Miami Art Week

Miami has recovered from the deluge and is open for the business of Art Fairs. The Association of Women Art Dealers is pleased to announce that a quartet of member galleries are participating in a variety of fairs during Miami Art Week. Visit them all! Complimentary shuttle buses to all of Art Miami’s venues will allow patrons to hop from fair to fair with ease. Fairs run from December 6th – December 10th. Frieze Week 2017 to Include AWAD Member Galleries

AWAD is pleased to share that three member galleries are participating in Frieze Week 2017. You can see them all on Pier 94 as the sister fairs CONTEXT New York and Art New York will utilize the pier’s entire 133,000 square-foot exhibition hall.  The fair runs from May 3rd to May 7th.

Art New York 

The  Cynthia Corbett Gallery located at booth B202, is delighted to present David Hockney. A Bigger Book courtesy of TASCHEN. The work is TASCHEN’s SUMO-sized David Hockney monograph, as spectacular in format as it is in scope.

Context 

The JoAnne Artman Gallery  is located at Booth C211. They will be showcasing the work of America Martin and John “Crash” Matos: two artists with distinctive sensibilities in subject matter and concept, yet linked through an expressive formal approach.

The Accola Griefen Gallery located at Booth 200 will build on their ongoing program, and highlight important American and Native American women artists – Gina Adams, Nancy Cohen, Judy Pfaff and Marie Watt.

Two AWAD Member galleries exhibiting in CONTEXT Art New York May 3 – 8th 2016

The Joanne Artman Gallery and the Accola Griefen Gallery will participate the inaugural edition of CONTEXT New York. The fair takes place May 3 – 8, 2016 in Manhattan. It joins Art New York at Pier 94, located on the Hudson River at 12th Avenue at 55th Street. A VIP Private Preview will kick off art week in New York City on Tuesday, May 3, before Frieze’s opening. CONTEXT New York & Art New York will be open to the general public, May 4 – 8.

ACCOLA GRIEFENSim Smith Gallery and Susan Eley Fine Art are exhibiting at CONTEXT Art Miami (1-6/Dec) at Art Miami Pavilion Midtown in the Wynwood Arts District. For more information and for an invitation, contact the galleries directly.

ACCOLA GRIEFEN presents exhibitions and projects of mid and late career contemporary artists, with an emphasis on women artists, many of historical importance. Our exhibitions and artists have been reviewed in publications including ArtNews, Art in America, The New York Times, The New Yorker, New York Magazine and Sculpture Magazine and their work can be found in the collections of museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art and The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art in addition to many other important public and private collections.

Sim Smith Gallery  works closely with a select group of artists (inc. Tim Garwood whose work is shown here courtesy of Sim Smith Gallery). Having developed a dynamic relationship with curators and collectors, gallery exhibitions are complemented with artistic projects and collaborations with visionary design studios, arts and culture festivals, pioneering charities, national institutions and global retail brands. Sim Smith Gallery exhibits at contemporary art fairs globally, whilst promoting the work of the gallery’s roster of artists to collectors, curators and museums from around the world.

Susan Eley Fine Art focuses on contemporary art by emerging and mid-career artists, who work in a range of media, from paint to photography to sculpture and print. Solo and group exhibitions showcase abstract as well as figurative work from a diverse body of artists from the U.S., Asia, Latin America and Europe. Gallery artists are dynamic, active professionals, who produce strong bodies of work that constantly shift and evolve.
