DAVID MORRISON: NATURE’S EPHEMERA at Garvey|Simon

Tuesday, November 13th, 2018

Garvey|Simon is pleased to present David Morrison: Nature’s Ephemera, an exhibition featuring the artist’s realist colored pencil drawings of the specters of the natural world.  Morrison toggles seamlessly between realism and abstraction, creating highly complex compositions from his observation of branches, leaves, and abandoned animal habitats. This is Morrison’s third solo show in New York, and his fourth solo show with Garvey|Simon.  The opening reception will take place on Thursday November 15, 6-8pm. The artist will be present.

“My drawings capture the degeneration cycle of plant materials and how they echo the living conditions of man and nature. I am interested in capturing the reality of their existence, with all the imperfections, echoing their fragile existence in nature.”
