The Association of Women Art Dealers and our partner for professional development, Be Smart About Art, is pleased to offer Using Your iPhone & iPad Like a Pro, to Get More Followers and Sell More Art! The workshop will be held on May 1st from 3:00 – 4:30 at the Susan Eley Fine Art Gallery on 46 90th Street, New York, New York.

We are all so used to pulling out our phones and tablets and just snapping away – whether they’re pictures of art, our pets, kids and dinner. Not all of those photo’s work for their intended purpose. Art business promotion and brand creation on social media platforms like instagram are now critical to success. Consequently, it’s increasingly  important for people to understand how to effectively use smartphones and tablets in art businesses today.

This information rich, practical and hands-on workshop led by photographer Chris E King will cover:

  • Tips on how pros use smartphones to snap and edit photos plus videos (including apps to use);
  • How to upload images and videos to social media / YouTube / other platforms;
  • Training to help you export images from your phone + back-up images so that you don’t lose them;
  • Trouble-shooting.

AWAD presents: Legal Workshop with Nicholas Sharp: Contracts between Artists + Art Dealers

The Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) is pleased to present this interactive workshop on Agreements between Artists and Art Dealers / Galleries, presented by specialist Art World Solicitor Nicholas Sharp and kindly hosted at Westbury, an AWAD Partner.

  • This workshop will focus on Agreements between Artists and Art Dealers / Galleries
  • After an initial overview of the agreement template and how it functions in practice, the session will open to a Q&A session with participants.
  • Ahead of the workshop, all participants will be provided with an Agreement Template. This will enable you to think of your own specific needs in advance, so that you’re ready to get input from Nick based on your working relationships with artists.

About the Trainer:

Mara Vlatković is a communications professional and arts manager based in New York City. With previous experience in cultural diplomacy and international development in Washington D.C., she has turned her focus on start-ups and organizations that support artists and creatives in fulfilling their full potential. She has a M.A. in Culture, Policy, and Management from City University London and a B.S. in Sociology from the London School of Economics. Mara is the Founder of Young Professionals in the Arts (YPA) and provides training in digital marketing to artists and art professionals. She previously worked at the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) as the Digital Communications Officer.

Special guest trainer for this session:

Mara will be joined by AWAD’s Founder and CEO Founder Susan Mumford, an art market specialist based in London, England. As the author of a blog that became a book, Art is your life, Make it your living, and a prolific user of social media and email marketing, she will be on-site, offering complimentary input to Mara’s digital consulting expertise.
