DAVID MORRISON: NATURE’S EPHEMERA at Garvey|Simon

Garvey|Simon is pleased to present David Morrison: Nature’s Ephemera, an exhibition featuring the artist’s realist colored pencil drawings of the specters of the natural world.  Morrison toggles seamlessly between realism and abstraction, creating highly complex compositions from his observation of branches, leaves, and abandoned animal habitats. This is Morrison’s third solo show in New York, and his fourth solo show with Garvey|Simon.  The opening reception will take place on Thursday November 15, 6-8pm. The artist will be present. 

“My drawings capture the degeneration cycle of plant materials and how they echo the living conditions of man and nature. I am interested in capturing the reality of their existence, with all the imperfections, echoing their fragile existence in nature.”

Garvey|Simon Art Access and Littlejohn Contemporary are pleased to present FÊTE DE LA NATURE, a salon-style exhibition celebrating nature through contemporary art and running from 10th July to 23rd August. 

The show features works by Christopher Wade Adams, Jan Aronson, Alan Bray (image on the left), Randy Bolton, Daisy Craddock, Annette Davidek, Janet Fish, Morris Graves, Valerie Hammond, Laurie Hogin, Ray Kass, Jennifer Knaus, David Kroll, Sandy Litchfield, Ruth Marten, Jacquelyn McBain, David Morrison, Mary Reilly, Susan Shatter, Keiji Shinohara, Anne Siems, William Smith, Idelle Weber.
