Sunday, August 6th, 2017

Elisa Contemporary Art is pleased to present “Rooted Down and Rising Up”. This three-woman show runs through September 28th.

The artists draw their influences from nature – the flowers, leaves and vines – deeply rooted in the world all around us to portray the complex connections into the human mind, body, soul, and spirit. The featured artists utilize a range of creative mediums and styles. California artist Sara V. Cole, uses layers of torn and hand cut paper leaves and botanical shapes sometimes up to 300 pieces, collaged with acrylic paints. Virginia artist Michelle Gagliano (work pictured above), combines imaginary ‘natural’ forms with textural patinas creating breathtaking panoramas that both evoke timeless private visions and invoke universal themes and emotions. Chinese artist, Amy Cheng, works with oil on paper and on canvas using patterns from around the world.

Elisa Contemporary Art – “Through her Eyes: A Southern California Perspective of our World”.

Friday, February 24th, 2017

Elisa Contemporary Art is pleased to present “Through her Eyes:  A Southern California Perspective of our World“. This two-woman show features Southern California Abstract artists Kimber Berry and Stephanie Cate. The show runs through May 25th.

The artists interpret the universe in art – revealing their impressions of our environment on earth both naturally created and impacted by our human interactions, as well as our surrounding planets.

The exhibit will include two series by Kimber Berry  – Liquid Landscapes and Plastic Gardens. (Thank You for the Magic Carpet Ride 2014- featured above) Berry’s work represents the intersection of technology, nature and humanity.  Her paintings are boldly colorful, in constant motion and multi-dimensional.  She masterfully integrates cut and layered digital elements imposed on paper and vinyl with pure paint creating a dance between the virtual world and the organic universe.

Emerging Los Angeles artist, Stephanie Cate, takes  traveling far into space…approximately 390 million miles…and more precisely to the planet Jupiter.  The exhibit will feature the Europa series, both paintings on Wood Panel, and studies on paper.  This series is based on the moon, Europa and Cate’s fascination with this planet, it’s structure and the potential for life.
