Ground Floor Gallery’s 4th Anniversary Exhibition, Current Locations until May 29th, 2017

Every April, Ground Floor Gallery owners, Krista Scenna & Jill Benson, celebrate the gallery’s anniversary by asking artists from the previous season to recommend artists to show in the current season.

The 5 talents in “Current Locations” were selected from these recommendations and the duo is  thrilled to introduce them to you!

“Current Locations” also speaks to these artists’ affinity with creating a sense of place (or places): painter Barbara Marks creates voluminous pictorial & interior spaces with her deeply saturated color palette; Elise Church paints intimate environments based on her travels in space in time; Colombian artist, Esperanza Cortés incorporates natural resources and folklore motifs from her homeland as a means of exploring personal identity; Kyle Vu-Dunn sculpts warped “natural” environments to harbor the self; and Viviane Rombaldi Seppey blends world maps (with emphasis on places she’s lived) with morbid imagery from traditional medical textbooks.

Exhibition is ongoing and closes May 29th, 2017

Off the Wall Gallery in Cardiff presents a group show in December

Wednesday, December 12th, 2012

Off the Wall Gallery‘s current group show includes more than ten gallery artists and showcases a series of still lifes, landscapes, city scenes and sculpture. The gallery is housed at the Old Probate Registry,  considered a beautiful example of Victorian design at its best although not at its most exotic. Although, a very simple building, displaying a flat facade to the road, the Registry is an object lesson in the harmonious use of materials (a smooth faced ashlar, a rough sandstone and grey-green slate), and the careful composition and subtle arrangement of the different elements to produce an eye-catching yet superbly refined building. For information on gallery opening hours and how to acquire work, contact Off the Wall Gallery.
