Kathryn Markel Fine Arts is pleased to present Beyond Measure, Laura Fayer’s second solo show with the gallery through February 11th 2017

Laura Fayer’s work is deeply rooted in the concept of wabi-sabi, which she was first exposed to while living in Japan as a child. She prioritizes a sense of discovery as she works, reacting to the paint and following the natural direction it takes, reflecting a sense of impermanence, imperfection, visual economy, and intimacy.

AWAD’s Flaere Gallery and artist Hidemi Takagi to raise funds for Japan

In the light of the scale of damage from the Tohoku Pacific earthquake in Japan,  Hidemi Takagi and Flaere Gallery have decided to raise funds for the artist’s country.

The new project of Hidemi Takagi, Blender will be offered on a limited basis at a special rate of £55 with all profits to the Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund.The Fund will channel 100% of all donations received to the ongoing work of voluntary and community organisations (NPOs) working in the most affected prefectures.

The Blender project is a lens into New York’s immigrant communities and cultures. (more…)
