ODETTA is pleased to present Linda Cunningham: Whose Land, Whose God?

Wednesday, July 5th, 2017

ODETTA is pleased to present their third summer solo exhibition of a single monumental work of art.

Linda Cunningham: Whose Land, Whose God? will transform the gallery space with potent found remnants taken from the  Berlin Wall in 1989, stored since that time, and finally exhibited for the first time here in NYC. These artifacts will be integrated into a room-sized installation in Cunningham’s signature style with shredded drywall, photo transfers, a huge wood door, texts, and bronze gestural strokes cast from recycled military weapons.

Supporting the concepts raised in Linda’s work are works on paper by Jeanne Heifetz and Glendalys Medina in ODETTA’s curated flat files.

The show runs July 7- Aug 20, 2017.
Artist’s Reception, Thursday, July 13, 6-8 pm
Artist’s Talk, Sunday August 6, 3:00 pm

ODETTA presents KIOSK (13/Nov-3/Jan)

Monday, November 9th, 2015

ODETTA presents KIOSK an exhibition featuring artists Linda Cunningham and Levan Mindiashvili who share a deep admiration for the language of buildings and surfaces in ruins, both ancient and modern. Well traveled, they have spent time touching these walls, and have read from their destination’s kiosks. This tactile knowledge filters back into their work in torn pages, layers, metallic bits, and shards of information, precariously juxtaposing ancient against industry, governments and the onslaught of Nature.

ODETTA is a new gallery exhibiting works by mid-career artists who have honed their craft and their vision. Special interest in contemporary painting, glyphs, music, color field, buddha mind, minimalism, playfulness and encyclopaedic obsessiveness.
