A collaboration between Sim Smith Gallery and Timorous Beasties will see the unveiling of new works by artist Jonathan McCree this weekend during the London Design Festival.

Using a selection of collaged Timorous Beasties wallpapers as his canvas, McCree will exhibit works of varying scales that wildly interweave between abstraction and expressionism. With work that combines the contemporary and the historical with references to nature and society, McCree’s paintings are an obvious pairing with the surreal and provocative work of Timorous Beasties. Known for his complex array of arrangements and exploration of repetition and hand drawn motifs, this collaboration will draw on the ancient, the contemporary and abstraction.
