exhibit-eAt 7pm a keynote address will be delivered on an important topic for industry professionals: ‘What makes a great gallery website’ talk by Billy Maker, Executive Director, exhibit-E, the leading provider of websites for the art world and AWAD’s newest Partner organisationThey launched their first exhibit-E automated website in 1998 and now serve over 400 gallery websites world wide.

exhibit-E’s clients include blue chip names such as Gagosian, The Willem De Kooning Foundation and artist Laurie Simmons, in addition to localised gallery brands such as AWAD’s NYC Founding Member Liz Garvey’s Garvey|Simon Art Access.

“Galleries rely on their websites on an everyday basis to promote, educate and communicate. Unfortunately, cumbersome user interfaces, poor graphic design, and poor programming hamper far too many websites. As the artist Laurie Simmons [whose website has been designed by exhibit-E] observes ‘I find myself shocked at times that certain entities and individuals can endorse their own sites given how difficult they make it to get around.”
