Endolllentions at Ivy Brown Gallery

Monday, February 4th, 2019

Ivy Brown Gallery continues this years programing with ‘Endollenations’ a playful yet poignant body of work by Thedra Cullar-Ledford.

For this series Thedra Cullar-Ledford paints the bodies of models to look like a doll of their choice, photographs them in poses accentuating their objectness, and then paints onto the prints to further enhance the “doll-ness” of the image. In these deceptively straightforward works, she uses the visual vocabulary of dolls to blur the line between an actual living-and-breathing person and the socially-or commercially-distorted representations of how a person should present themselves to us as viewers.

Opening reception
Tuesday, February 5, 6-8pm Exhibition dates February 5-March 5
