Frieze Week 2017 to Include AWAD Member Galleries

AWAD is pleased to share that three member galleries are participating in Frieze Week 2017. You can see them all on Pier 94 as the sister fairs CONTEXT New York and Art New York will utilize the pier’s entire 133,000 square-foot exhibition hall.  The fair runs from May 3rd to May 7th.

Art New York 

The  Cynthia Corbett Gallery located at booth B202, is delighted to present David Hockney. A Bigger Book courtesy of TASCHEN. The work is TASCHEN’s SUMO-sized David Hockney monograph, as spectacular in format as it is in scope.

Context 

The JoAnne Artman Gallery  is located at Booth C211. They will be showcasing the work of America Martin and John “Crash” Matos: two artists with distinctive sensibilities in subject matter and concept, yet linked through an expressive formal approach.

The Accola Griefen Gallery located at Booth 200 will build on their ongoing program, and highlight important American and Native American women artists – Gina Adams, Nancy Cohen, Judy Pfaff and Marie Watt.

AWAD galleries to participate in the Affordable Art Fair NYC March 30th – April 2nd

A sure sign of Spring in Manhattan is the Affordable Art Fair  NYC  in Chelsea. This year’s edition includes  70 local, national, and international galleries offering an array of original artwork at many price points. There are also tours for adults and art workshops for children and families. This year we are delighted to see artists from seven member galleries represented. Sim Smith will exhibit new work by Bradley Wood at Art Central Hong Kong (20-25 March)

Sim Smith will exhibit a solo show of new work by Bradley Wood at this year’s Art Central Hong Kong. Wood’s work ‘Sun’ is shown here courtesy of the artist and Sim Smith.

The Sim Smith booth will form part of RISE, a selection of galleries and art spaces launched in the past six years. Galleries in this sector present tightly curated solo and dual artist presentations by early career artists.

One of the early signs of spring arriving to London has to be the Battersea Spring Edition of the Affordable Art Fair and one more year, many AWAD Members are exhibiting. Art Rickshaw at the Asia House Art Fair (16-19 March)

Art Rickshaw presents ‘Traditional Art and Embroidery’, an exhibition that will take place during the Asia House Fair that runs from 16th to 19th March 2017 at Asia House, 63 New Cavendish Street, London.

Art Rickshaw is the authorized UK representative for XQ Vietnam, one of the foremost silk embroidery houses. The works featured in the exhibition is shown above (image courtesy of Art Rickshaw).
