Sara Nightingale founded her eponymous gallery in Water Mill, NY in 1998 after a decade working in the art framing business. She represents emerging and mid-career artists whose work is informed by experimentation, diversity, dialogue and risk. In addition to her role as chief curator of her own gallery, in which she presents special projects and thematic group shows as well as solo exhibitions from her stable of artists, Ms. Nightingale also offers art consulting and educational tours to her clients. She provides full service to designers seeking help with their client’s art acquisitions, including shipping, framing, on-site approval and consultation.
Ms. Nightingale has served as an educational tour guide for UBS at Art Basel Miami Beach and on the Parrish Art Museum’s Business Council Steering Committee as well as the Art Auction Committee for the Watermill Center’s summer benefit. She is currently on the benefit committee for Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic and serves on the Board of Directors of Breakwater Yacht Club, a non-profit community sailing center in Sag Harbor, NY where she lives. She is an advocate for women sailors and in 2008 founded a women’s regatta, Women’s Open One-Design, which she has chaired ever since.
