Community Engagement & Governance Manager

Rachel is a writer, editor, and art worker based in London. Originally from New York, she studied art history and French at Boston University before relocating in 2020 for her MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art. She comes to AWAD with ample experience liaising with art dealers and other art market professionals from her work at the Artists’ Collecting Society, where she managed resale royalties on behalf of artists and their estates. She previously developed her knowledge of the secondary art market through placements in the contemporary art departments at both Christie’s and Sotheby’s in London.

Rachel’s work managing AWAD’s membership and events complements her freelance art journalism practice. Her writing spans museum and market coverage, artist interviews, gallery editorial, and academia, with bylines in Ocula, The Art Journal, Plaster, Public Parking, Boston Hassle, and OBOE Journal, among others. An active participant in professional networks herself, she is a proud member of the Critics’ Circle, Creative Freedoms, and the Working Arts Club.
