‘Cry of the Earth’  on view at Ivy Brown Gallery is an exhibition by artists Adriana Varella, Amy Gillian Wilson and Shiri Mordechay who collectively explore the human experience and the instinctual animal nature inside humans that culture has trained and civilized. The works by these artists have recurring spiritual themes that point to the potential of being undomesticated. The project is an investigation of the forgotten ecstasy inside us, a powerful force difficult to fit into daily life. It aims to excavate this force, to acknowledge the chaos in the world and in ourselves, and to celebrate its beauty and multifaceted essence.
