The Elder Gallery of Contemporary Art is pleased to present their group show Home. It features artists David J. Butler, Crista Cammaroto, and J. Stacy Utley. The exhibition will be ongoing through February 27, 2021.

Home is a place we never see with stranger’s eyes. It is a base for everything: hope, family, school, fellowship, faith, future struggles and successes. Even as our sense of place has changed significantly this year, there is a magnetic property of home, the way it aligns everything around us. It is more than a place. It’s an idea. Home is home, and everything else is not-home.

This exhibition features art that explores the meanings and feelings of “home” and “place” in our increasingly interwoven society. Home can be one place or many. Finding home can take a journey. Re-imaging home has become a universal undertaking. The artists in this show explore one of the most basic social concepts by which individuals, families, nations, and regions understand themselves in relation to others. The resulting visual conversations embrace both idealized concepts and physical realities of home, while exploring our relationship to ourselves, others and the natural world around us.
