AWAD’s New York/Tri-State Chapter and other Members in town are looking forward to attending Independent 20th Century next week for its debut edition at The Breuer (945 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10021).
The invitation-only fair, founded in 2022, champions artists and avant-garde movements between 1900 and 2000, and for the first time this year will take place at Sotheby’s at The Breuer in New York City. The building, which opened in 1966 and has served as home to the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Met Breuer, and the Frick Collection, brings nearly sixty years of acclaimed cultural programming to its new chapter as Sotheby’s global headquarters. Independent 20th Century runs from September 24th to 27th, 2026. Independent 20th Century continues its mission to reframe the canon of 20th-century art by bringing together artists from diverse geographies, generations, movements, and styles.
