London Craft Week celebrates outstanding British and international creativity. It brings together over 250 established and emerging makers, designers, brands and galleries from around the world. This year it includes two AWAD London member galleries – Cynthia Corbett Gallery and Ruup & Form.
Cynthia Corbett Gallery is thrilled to be participating in London Craft Week 2021. They are together with their Young Masters Judge, Curator and esteemed Collector Preston Fitzgerald, they are presenting a special curation which is debuting at the Gainsborough Hotel in South Kensington. The exhibition entitled The Meaning Behind Materiality includes Gallery artists Matt Smith, Albert Montserrat, Klari Reis. The Young Masters are represented by Amy Hughes, Emilie Taylor and Elin Hughes, and the gallery’s Guest Artists are Freya Bramble-Carter, Rafaela de Ascanio and Tanya Gomez.
Ruup & Form is presenting Disobedient – an exploration of wearable sculptures at London Craft Week. Disobedient explores wearable sculptures with makers who are disobedient to their craft- by material, technique or presentation. These artists use their medium to address political, ecological and personal dialogues through works that would look good on you or displayed as art.
Showcasing works by Bridget Harvey, Jessica Jue, Eva Fernandez, Eva Van Kempen, Naomi McIntosh, Lifu Zhou, Lynne Speake, Melissa Hampson Smith, Claire Malet, Alise Kenndy, Rachael Colley, Sarah Pulvertaft, Jed Green, Beatrice Mayfield, LOT Collaboration and Katherine James.
