| Biography | Daria Pletneva grew up in Sochi, on the Russian Black Sea coast. She earned her Master’s Degree in journalism at the prestigious Moscow State University. In her early years, she worked as a TV host and reporter.
Daria’s next job at the cruise company allowed her to travel the world in her 20s. During these trips, she discovered her passion for contemporary art. Daria learned the basics of art history by seeing the world’s greatest canvases with her own eyes and touring all the main European museums from Louvre to Tate Modern. The interiors of the luxury cruise ships became the first real-life tutorial of using art as indoor space decoration.
In 2012 family affairs brought Daria to New York, one of the major art hubs of the world, where she decided to pursue an art dealer’s career. Daria studied numerous art history programs online. In 2014 Daria and her husband Robert started an art services company that allowed her to explore the New York art market from behind the scenes.
Two years later, Daria started ARTI.NYC – a boutique art gallery that operates online with pop-up shows and art fairs presence. ARTI.NYC specializes in contemporary minimalism and digital art and pays special attention to Latin-American artists.
Daria’s curatorial work was featured in Time Out New York magazine, an art book published by the Cultural Ministry of Ecuador, and two short documentaries. Since 2019 Daria mentors international art students. |
