Guns & Rain and StArt Art Gallery are pleased to present Muzivi Wenzira, an exhibition of artworks by seven artists from Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Both galleries share a focus on contemporary art from Southern Africa. The exhibition displays painting, drawings, prints and mixed media artworks. From Namibia, artists Nicky Marais, Actofel Ilovu and Libita Sibungu will be on show, from Zimbabwe, we have Sky Salanje and Isheanesu Dondo, and from South Africa Thina Dube and Aneesah Girie.  The pop-up exhibition runs from July 21st – July 31st, 2022 at the Mosi O Tunya Gallery

‘Muzivi Wenzira’ translates from chiShona to ‘s/he who uses a footpath’. Alluding in part to the long, not always easy,  journey that artists take over the course of their careers. This title also points towards the shared histories of these artists and the socio-political contexts that they inhabit which provide a varied and rich background for the artworks on display.
