This month’s exhibition “Never Gonna Leave NYC” pays homage to the pioneers of street art who had a profound influence on the underground art scene in New York City. It’s a reflection on the era of the 1970’s and the street art scene on the Lower East Side and tribute to the pioneers and trendsetters that shaped the art scene as it is today. Itis a statement on rediscovering a time that was tangible and authentic.

The concept of “Wednesday’s at A2Z’s” is inspired by the era of the 197O’s on the LES of NYC, and specifically an event hosted by Arleen Schloss which who held multi- disciplinary, experimental art events at her loft on the Lower East Side. These events grew so popular that over time they would attract a mass of artists, writers and musicians to congregate and create art. “The vibe was relaxed, the art experimental and people just practiced their art. No one bothered us.”
