The Cynthia Corbett Gallery, as is their tradition will start their winter season at the on line version of the London Art Fair – LAF: EDIT. Their curation, entitled In Art We Trust! is centered around the artwork of British Pop art icon Deborah Azzopardi, who has been celebrating the 35 years of her professional career. The gallery is excited to showcase several new Azzopardi artworks which resonate with today’s environment, as well as previously unseen older masterpieces. The world is familiar with Azzopardi’s artworks, as many of them have been published internationally. Her original paintings are in great demand, and the gallery is pleased to bring to the Fair such rare gems as the Habitat ‘Dating’ series (2004/08), the iconic …One Lump Or Two? (2014) and Love Is The Answer (2016), created by the artist at the request of Mitch and Janis Winehouse as a tribute to their daughter. Witnessing the changes in world during this last year, the artist chose to address both the domestic and the professional shifts we are all living through. Her 2020 paintings reflect the oscillation between Azzopardi’s signature subject matter, full of humorous flirtation (Physical Attraction 2; I Just Called To Say…) and more introspective artworks (Balance, Contemplation). Coinciding with the London Art Fair is the debut of a new series with gallery founder and director, Cynthia Corbett, tea-o’clock Zoom.
