AWAD is pleased to welcome Alix Holloway of AH Arts LLC to AWAD’s New York-TriState Chapter. As is our practice with new members, we asked Alix a few questions about her background and art business.
What is the name of your business, where are you located and when did you start?
My business is called AH Arts LLC and I’m based in New York. I founded the company in 2020 as a boutique full-service fine art advisory firm, specializing in Modern, Post-War, and Contemporary Art.
What does your business offer, in terms of goods and services?
Fine art dealing, advisory and appraisal services.
What inspired you to take the leap and start your own business?
I was prompted to start my own business by the closing and support of the established secondary market gallery I was with for over a decade. It has been, and continues to be, a thrill to expand on those lessons and deepen those relationships in new ways.
What excites you about having joined the Association of Women Art Dealers?
I’m looking forward to expanding my network and meeting new and interesting women in the arts.
What brings you joy in your work?
Researching incredible works of art and making meaningful connections by sourcing just the right piece for just the right collector.
A just for fun question: If you were a work of art what would you be and why?
A Rauschenberg “Combine” – it’s the perfect coupling of history and the contemporary.
