AWAD is proud to be a cultural sponsor for the second edition of the 14C Art Fair in Jersey City’s beautiful waterfront on February 21st to 23rd. The fair site is the Hyatt Regency at Exchange Place – easily accessible by PATH, NY Waterway Ferry or car.

Art Fair 14C features 56 regional, national and international exhibitors. It has a diverse and eclectic mix of galleries – long established and newly formed – as well as individual artists, groups of artists, arts non-profits, and even a university art department.

In addition to the Exhibition Rooms, what makes Art Fair 14C unique is their dedication to celebrating New Jersey artists. More than 270 artists from 20 of the 21 counties in New Jersey applied to the Juried Show, and 67 were selected.

AWAD’s relationship to 14C is particularly meaningful. The fairs Executive Director Robinson Holloway and Deputy Director Kristin DeAngelis are both AWAD members.

AWAD is also represented by three member galleries. Kathryn Markel Fine Art in room #837 and Adah Rose Gallery in room #813 are exhibitors and Susan Eley Fine Art’s artist, Allison Green, will be featured in the Juried Show.

Robinson Halloway, had this to say about the origins of the 14C Fair –

“The genesis of Art Fair 14C in large part came from conversations I had with AWAD members about art fairs – the importance of them in the global art market, as well as the challenges and obstacles smaller galleries faced in having successful experiences at art fairs. I created the fair as a non-profit designed to strengthen galleries and expand opportunities for artists, but also to increase public access to fine art for the people of New Jersey.  We showcase artists and galleries that are rarely seen in other art fairs, with more than half of our exhibitors from New Jersey.

We deliberately chose the Hyatt Regency at Exchange Place as our venue – because of the easy access by car and mass transit, and because we wanted the friendly intimacy of having hotel rooms as our exhibition rooms.  Each is set up as a small salon or installation.”
