This year, the Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) will proudly celebrate its 15th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its mission to support and connect women in the art industry. Founded in London in 2009, AWAD has grown into an international network championing the success of women art dealers.

To commemorate this special occasion, AWAD will host an exclusive networking event at the British Art Fair. This invitation-only event will be held on Friday 27 September 2024, will be led by AWAD’s CEO and founder, Susan J Mumford, who will introduce a talk by Gay Hutson, founder of the British Art Fair.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with fellow gallery owners, art advisors and industry professionals, fostering the connections that drive innovation and success.

Since its inception, AWAD has provided a platform for women art dealers to collaborate, share knowledge and foster professional growth. Over the past 15 years, the organisation has expanded its reach and impact, with chapters in the UK, New York-Tristate and Global art markets, supporting women to achieve their full potential in the art world.

“We are thrilled to celebrate AWAD’s 15th anniversary and the incredible achievements of our members,” said Susan J Mumford. “This event at the British Art Fair not only honours our past but also looks forward to a future where women art dealers continue to thrive and make a significant impact in the art world.”

The anniversary celebration is open to AWAD members and invited guests and is sponsored by AWAD’s partner Rawlinson & Hunter LLP, a leading provider of tax and financial advice.
