For politically-minded art goers, be sure to check out The Butterfly Effect, a solo exhibition by artist Silvia Viana at The GRAPA. Based in Valencia and founder by AWAD Member Esther McIntosh, The Gallery for Rebel Artists and Political Art (The GRAPA) aims to raise the visibility and diversity of political art within the contemporary art world.

The Butterfly Effect explores how every decision, gesture, or habit—ranging from the actions of large corporations and global leaders to the everyday choices of individuals in the so-called “developed world”—creates consequences that extend far beyond our immediate perception. It offers a critical reflection on the mechanisms of global capitalism, addressing systemic inequalities, environmental impact, and social responsibility. The project also highlights how these global systems disproportionately affect women and marginalized communities, emphasizing the structural nature of gender inequality within contemporary economic frameworks.

Through a powerful and symbolic visual language, Silvia Viana invites viewers to reflect on their role within these interconnected systems and consider the potential of individual and collective action as a force for change.

The exhibition is open through 11th April at Calle Puerto Rico 40, Valencia.
