The Association of Women Art Dealers would like to welcome new Global Chapter Member Ruth-Ann Thorn owner of Exclusive Collections Gallery. The gallery is located on 212 S Cedros Avenue #104 in the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach California. The Exclusive Collections ( EC Gallery ) was founded on the premise that the Art of Discovery is for everyone. That philosophy has brought EC Gallery tremendous success with a loyal customer base that continues to grow as they celebrate their 25th anniversary.

We wanted to get to know Ruth-Ann a little better so we asked her a few questions about her business.

What are your Specialism/s?
Bringing emerging artists to market internationally.

What’s your professional background?
My mother is a professional working artist. I grew up in and around the art world

What inspired you to take the leap and start your own business

I have always been entrepreneurial. I always knew I would open my own business. It’s the joy of taking ownership which allows for creativity.

We market and promote Artists to Galleries Nationally and internationally.

What excites you about having joined the Association of Women Art Dealers?
I love working with and supporting women in business. Particularly in the art business where I feel women are
under represented.

What brings you joy in your work?

I get a great deal of satisfaction working with collectors. I love how Art brings hope and transforms people’s existence within their living space.

If you were a work of art, what piece would you be (and why?!)?
The Empress Theodora, by pre-Raphaelite artist Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant . I have always been a fan of pre-Raphaelite work. I relate with the beauty and power of this era. My employees have a nickname me the Art Empress.
