Rebecca Lax

Established in 2013, Lax & Associates LLC offers private dealer and art consultant services for purchasing Contemporary and Post War art with a primary focus on prints, editions and multiples.  Rebecca Lax has been a dealer of contemporary art for twenty-five years working in sales and administration for some of the best galleries in NYC: Leo Castelli gallery, Galerie Lelong/NYC, Jim Kempner Fine Art, Pace Prints, Edward Thorp gallery and a stint at Knoedler (under Rubin).  She was also Director of Finance for the Neiman Center for Print Studies at Columbia University from 2005-2009 and sales consultant through to present. Her extensive experience in contemporary art, working for some of the most established galleries in NYC and in the production and fabrication side of print publishing, provides an in-depth approach and knowledge of the overall contemporary art and print market. Over the past six years she has sourced extraordinary unique and editioned works for auctions, holding Senior level Specialist and Consultant positions.  Her past projects include art brokering for private collectors and sourcing for all the major auction houses and their respective Prints and Contemporary art departments: Sothebys, Christies, Phillips, Bonhams, artnet auctions, and Auctionata AG/Paddle8.
